Corey Heim of Marietta, Georgia will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut at the Dover Motor Speedway this weekend for Legacy Motor Club. He will be driving the No. 43 Dollar Tree sponsored Toyota Supra sporting the famous blue & red throw-back paint scheme honoring Richard Petty. Heim will be replacing LMC driver Erik Jones who sustained a compression fracture in his lower vertebrae during a violent head-on crash in the turn three wall at Talladega last weekend.
Corey Heim is a current full-time driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for TRICON Garage driving the No. 11 Toyota Tundra where he is currently number two in the season points standings, trailing points leader Christian Eckes by only two points. Heim also is a part-time driver for Sam Hunt Racing, driving the No. 26 Toyota Supra in the Xfinity Series for a total of nine scheduled Xfinity races in the 2024 season.
Legacy Motor Club signed Heim as their reserve driver for the Cup Series back in January, and as their simulator driver as well. Heim is also a reserve driver for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s 23XI Racing. Legacy Motor Club co-owner Jimmie Johnson said on Twitter/X yesterday, “Thanks for answering the call @ Corey Heim_, let’s have some fun this weekend”.
Earlier this year Corey Heim was called an up & coming superstar, and the number one top NASCAR Cup Series prospect. Along with fellow Georgia Xfinity drivers Chandler Smith and Austin Hill, it’s a safe bet that these three stand-out drivers will be the next to be tapped for a full-time slot in the Cup Series. As for now, it’s officially Heim Time.
